Human Rights Day is an important event observed every year on the specified date of December 10 to mark the anniversary of declaration of Human Rights by Universal Declaration of Human Rights established in 1948, to create equal opportunities for people, to tackle human right issues and bring an end to discrimination. On the occasion of International Human Rights day, SRN International School organized and celebrated the Human Rights day with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. This event was an opportunity to make student aware of their rights along with the history of UN human Rights Day and rights of children.
This year’s Human Rights Day campaign, “Stand up for someone’s rights today”, is based on the declaration’s fundamental proposition that each one of us – everywhere and at all times – is entitled to the full range of human rights and that it’s everyone’s responsibility to uphold them.
Activities and events are an integral part of Human Rights Day. The main objectives of such activities are to enlighten people about human rights and also encourage upholding them in their communities. Students from class V to VIII participated in slogan writing competition and signature campaign. SRNians shared their views explicitly through slogans which showcased their responsibility towards every citizen and the nation.
School Principal Ms.Usha Sharma congratulated the students for endeavouring the event with dedication. She highlighted that celebration like Human’s Rights Day not only create awareness among students but also helps them to realize their duty towards their nation.Human Rights Day is also about remembering the people who sacrificed their valuable lives to safeguard human rights for everyone.
